Sage North America to Acquire PayChoice

Sage North America announced an agreement to acquire PayChoice, the privately held provider of payroll solutions for small and medium-sized businesses.

Through the acquisition, Sage will extend its portfolio of offerings to provide SMB customers with online payroll solutions with integrated services.

Serving the SMB market for more than 20 years, the Mt. Laurel, N.J.-based PayChoice provides full-service payroll and HR services to more than 100,000 businesses in the U.S., delivered in real time via the cloud.

The transaction, expected to close in October and subject to customer closing conditions, will position Sage as a leading provider for online payroll solutions to small businesses, accountants and financial institutions.

“PayChoice is an excellent business, with a strong management team, attractive cloud platform and a proven business model based on supporting the needs of small and medium-sized businesses and licensees,” stated Pascal Houillon, president and CEO ofSage North America. “We are excited about the growth opportunity that the combination of Sage and PayChoice creates in this market and delighted to welcome the management and staff of PayChoice to Sage.”

In addition to payroll solutions, the acquisition will enable Sage to add integrated ancillary services like tax filing and direct deposit as part of its core offerings.

“PayChoice is thrilled to become a part of Sage,” stated PayChoice CEO Robert Digby. “We already share so many synergies: our heritage of supporting SMBs, our culture, our emphasis on customer experience, and our focus on accountants and financial institutions. This is a great move for our company and we see nothing but tremendous opportunity in the future.”
