Sage Releases Peachtree 2012

Sage North America said Wednesday it has made several key enhancements to the Sage Peachtree 2012 product line, including built-in business intelligence, an expanded payroll field, and an “advisor” function designed to guide users through any issues they encounter in the product.

The Sage Advisor function follows usage patterns and offers brief, personalized “show me how” demos and guided tips and tricks to prompt small businesses to discover new ways to simplify processes and benefit from business advice.  The tips can be saved for later review or, if the user prefers, dismissed completely.

The Sage Peachtree Business Intelligence function is an add-on reporting and analysis tool integrated with Sage Peachtree. Using a Microsoft Excel interface, it is designed to provide robust reporting and easier access to Sage Peachtree data.

“Of all the enhancement requests we get, a good portion are related to reporting,” said Peachtree product manager Shari Willman. “You are given seven standard reports out of the box, and users can sort how they want, customize how they want and save it back into Peachtree. We will likely add to it over time.”

Willman also noted that Peachtree 2012 has expanded the payroll field to 40. The product previously had 10 fields for employers and 25 for employees.

“Small businesses contend with a host of issues, from increased compliance requirements and rising costs to staying competitive, in many cases with reduced staff,” said Connie Certusi, Sage North America’s executive vice president and general manager of small business accounting solutions. “They need a business management system that is easy to use but brings them the rich insight they need to manage effectively. Sage Peachtree 2012 easily delivers that insight they need so they can focus on what they do best:  running their businesses.”

Pricing varies depending on the product, ranging from $229 for Sage Peachtree Pro Accounting 2012 up to $1,199.99 for Sage Peachtree Premium Accounting 2012 Multi-User Edition (five-seat license).
