Sageworks to Generate Reports for LexisNexis

Research Triangle Park, N.C. (Jan. 20, 2004) -- Web-based research giant LexisNexis has licensed reports generated by Sageworks Inc.’s "ProfitCents public," a software program that converts the financial statement numbers of publicly traded firms into plain language reports, Sageworks announced.

The application loads the Securities and Exchange Commission data of publicly traded firms in the United States (excluding financial institutions) into Sageworks’ proprietary "FIND" technology, which converts the numbers into text.

The ProfitCents public tool will be available within the month through nexis.com and through the LexisNexis Company Dossier within LexisNexis Academic.

"The LexisNexis agreement will extend our platform technology to a wider market," said Brian Hamilton, chief executive officer of Sageworks. "Our goal is to provide LexisNexis customers with plain language reports that will really help them understand what is going on in a company from a financial perspective."
