Sax announces first annual 'Founder's Award'

Clifton, N.J.-based accounting firm Sax announced this week its first annual "Founder’s Award," which looks to make a $15,000 donation to a local nonprofit in the New York City metropolitan area that best demonstrates efforts toward "obtaining sustainability."

Named in honor of the firm's foundersSander Sax, Morris Macy and Egon Frommthe Founder's Award highlights and supports organizations that have either achieved financial stability or sustain the population they serve.

“The Founder’s Award demonstrates our passion to propel nonprofits forward, while raising awareness for the importance of sustainability,” stated Todd Polyniak, head of Sax’s Not-for-Profit Practice. “Our team focuses on providing cutting edge advisory solutions and concrete resources tailored to the not-for-profit community, and our aim is to make this $15,000 gift to a nonprofit for stability an annual tradition.”

Founder’s Award applicants are asked to submit an essay or nonprofessional video displaying how their nonprofit organization has become sustainable or how they hope it to become sustainable in the future.

The winner will be announced at the Founder’s Award ceremony in January at the Chart House in Weehawken, N.J. Two honorable mentions will also be awarded consolation prizes and recognition.
