Scott & Co. Appoints New Leaders

IMGCAP(1)] Phyllis Graydon has picked up the title of partner at Scott & Co. LLC. The firm also appointed her Upstate managing partner.

As Upstate managing partner, Graydon will oversee client service, practice development and operational requirements of the firm’s expansion in the Greenville office, which serves clients across the Upstate.

Graydon, who is a member of the firm’s Tax and Advisory Services group, has more than 25 years of tax experience and has worked with privately held and publicly traded companies. She has worked with several firms including Arthur Andersen, KPMG, Deloitte, and a number of regional firms. 

Prior to Scott & Co., Graydon was a principal at Johnstone Graydon & Thompson where she specialized in forensic accounting and litigation support specialist. Johnstone Graydon & Thompson later merged with Scott & Co. in March. (see: Johnstone Graydon & Thompson and Scott and Co. Plan to Merge

Graydon is member of the AICPA and the South Carolina Association of Public Accountants, and is licensed in the state of South Carolina. In her spare time she volunteers for the JL Mann Academy and Brandon Hall School in Atlanta, Ga., as well as  Mauldin Recreation Department and the United Way of Greenville County. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Furman University.

[IMGCAP(2)] Greg Thompson also earned the title of partner at the firm. Thompson is a member of the firm’s Assurance and Advisory Services team in Greenville.  He has more than 20 years of experience in both industry and public accounting, having served as reporting manager for two different publicly traded companies, a corporate controller for a textile manufacturing company, CFO for a Southeastern building products manufacturer, and several years with an international accounting firm. 

Prior to Scott & Co., Thompson was a principal at Johnstone Graydon & Thompson.  He is also a member of the AICPA and the South Carolina Association of Public Accountants. He advises clients on financial and business matters, and is active in recruiting, counseling and developing professional staff.

He’s a member of the board of directors of the Greenville Little Theater, and a member of the Greenville Chorale. Thompson volunteers for the United Way of Greenville County and Hands on Greenville. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Economics from Stephen F. Austin State University.
