Singleton Named Industry Director of Retailers, Food, Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare

The Internal Revenue Service has appointed Henry V. Singleton, CPA, as director of its Retailers, Food, Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare Industry Section, headquartered in Illinois.  The section reports to the IRS Large and Mid-Size Business Division.

"Henry has played a key leadership role in helping us achieve some of our most significant accomplishments," said Deborah M. Nolan, commissioner of the Large and Mid-Size Business Division.  "He brings a tremendous amount of experience to his new role."

The Retailers, Food, Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare Industry Section is one of five special industry segments within the division, whose members have similar financial reporting and growth patterns.  This section provides pre-filing and issue resolution services to approximately 300 large and 18,000 midsized taxpayers with assets greater than $10 million.

Singleton began his IRS career in 1987 as a revenue agent and held various management positions, including territory manager of the Financial Services Industry section in New York, before his selection into the IRS's executive development program.  Prior to joining the IRS, Singleton held managerial and technical positions in the insurance, health care and oil industries.
