Skoda Minotti Completes Merger with Dowell & Perez

Skoda Minotti completed its second Tampa firm merger with the addition of Dowell & Perez PA. Deal terms were undisclosed.

“Good things are happening in Tampa, and we are excited to join Skoda Minotti,” former Dowell & Perez president Dan Dowell said in a statement. Dowell is now the co-partner-in-charge of the newly combined office.

Skoda Minotti, which is headquartered in Cleveland, tapped into the Tampa market when it merged with the CPA firm Baumann, Raymondo & Co. in July 2012.

Skoda Minotti offers clients a full complement of business advisory services, including telecom, IT support and managed solutions, financial services, private wealth management, professional staffing and strategic marketing.

Dowell, along with Skoda Minotti partner Alex White, will manage as co-partners-in-charge of the Tampa office. Reinforcing the team, Skoda Minotti partner Michael Milazzo has relocated to the Tampa area. Dowell & Perez co-founder Mike Perez will also assume an expanded leadership role.

Over the last two years, Skoda Minotti has merged with a total of nine businesses, including four CPA firms, one marketing agency, and four information technology companies, most recently Ohio-based DataServ in May 2013.

“We are continually looking for like-minded partners, specifically in the main lines of our business,” Skoda Minotti chairman Gregory Skoda said. “Accounting and tax, IT, marketing, asset management and staffing firms are always of interest, primarily within our current markets of Tampa, Cleveland and Akron, Ohio.” Skoda did not rule out opportunities in other markets, and added, “We will always consider a strong opportunity in a new U.S. market.”
