Robert Redwitz & Co. acquired Coradino, Hickey and Hanson, a San Diego-based accounting firm, in a merger effective Oct. 1.

The newly merged firm has relocated its offices, but will continue to operate in La Jolla under the name Robert Redwitz & Co. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Redwitz & Co.'s staff will now number 85 people, and has other locations in the San Francisco area, as well as in Irvine and Carlsbad. Besides offering traditional accounting, auditing and tax services to private companies, the merged firm now offers information technology consulting services to its clients.

The principals of the acquired firm, who will join Redwitz & Co. said that they decided to give up their independent status after 50 years in business to provide their clients with a broader depth of services and expertise. Charles Coradino and David Hickey will join Robert Redwitz & Co. as directors, while Bruce Hanson will serve as regional managing principal.
