Financial services and mobile payments provider Square introduced its new Square Payroll product, currently available to California sellers with plans to expand to other states.
The payroll offering joins the company’s Square Reader for mobile credit card payments, Square Stand device for iPads, Square Register point-of-sale software, Square Cash money transfer service and Square Capital business financing service in helping Square build a comprehensive payments solution.
Among Square Payroll’s features are integrated timecards, so hourly workers clocking in and out from the register will have their hours automatically imported into the system. The product also automatically handles taxes, calculating withholdings, payments and filings.
Square Payroll promises quick and easy onboarding for users and their employees, who do not necessarily need to be hourly to take advantage of the product.
Square Payroll is priced at $20 per month plus $5 for each employee paid that month.
