SS&G Appoints Littman as CEO

After a 16-month leadership transition process, Top 100 Firm SS&G Inc., selected Robert Littman to serve as chief executive officer.

[IMGCAP(1)] Littman joined SS&G as a manager in 1985. In 1990, he was selected to co-lead the firm's Akron office and been active with the firm's executive, finance, and personnel committees. As CEO, Littman will now oversee the firm’s day-to-day operations.

Gary Shamis, who had this responsibility since 1986, will become senior managing director and will focus on the continued execution of the firm's expansion plans and strategic growth initiatives. Shamis will also remain president of SS&G and will continue to serve on the firm's executive and finance committees. [IMGCAP(2)]

"SS&G has enjoyed superb growth over the years," Shamis shared in a statement. "Through this thoughtful and deliberate leadership transition, we ensure the firm continues to deliver the highest quality of service our clients have come to expect while positioning us for continued long-term growth as one of the nation's premier accounting and consulting firms." [IMGCAP(3)] Mark Goldfarb, who was also part of the transition process, will also take on the role of senior managing director. He will maintain co-supervision of SS&G's Akron office while still continuing to serve on the firm's finance and executive committees. He will continue to provide senior counsel to clients on a wide range of tax, estate, and succession planning matters.

Littman, Shamis and Goldfarb collectively worked on the transition plan since January 2012. "Thanks to the stewardship of Gary and Mark, and the efforts of all our teams at SS&G, we enter a new era of growth with significant momentum," Littman said in a statement. "I sincerely appreciate the trust that is being placed in me and look forward to helping the team build upon the firm's success."
