St. Louis Accounting Firms Merge

Local accounting firms Conner Ash and the SPS Group CPAs met in St. Louis, danced the hoochee koochee, became each other’s tootsee wootsie, and have now announced a merger.

The deal, which will allow the two firms to expand the breadth and depth of services to their clients, will take effect July 1. The merged practices will retain the name Conner Ash P.C. and the combined offices will be in the current Conner Ash facility in St. Louis.

“We have always had a great deal of respect for the team at Conner Ash,” said SPS Group managing member Mike Stillman in a statement. Conner Ash was dedicated to “raving fan service,” he noted, and that convinced him the firm would provide clients with a high level of customer service. “This merger makes perfect sense because our cultures are so similar,” he added.

Stillman will serve as a manager in the business services department at Conner Ash, and the entire team at the SPS Group will join him in that department.

Conner Ash has over 40 professionals that provide accounting, tax, audit, advisory, financial, business and professional services to both individuals and organizations. The firm targets industries such as transportation, real estate, construction, manufacturing, distribution, not-for-profits and insurance.

“The SPS Group’s practice parallels the services currently offered by Conner Ash,” said
Conner Ash president Howard Rosen (pictured). “We were actively seeking a like-minded firm with professionals who, like us, are interested in providing world-class service with a local firm’s genuine care. We firmly believe this move allows us to serve more effectively as a trusted advisor for our clients.”
