Strauss Joins Open Systems as Director of Business Development

Minneapolis (Dec. 17, 2003) -- Veteran accounting software reseller and executive Rita Strauss has joined accounting and business management product vendor Open Systems Inc. as its director of business development.

Strauss joins the company with 16 years of experience in the accounting software industry, working as a reseller for nine years and holding managerial positions at Redwing Software, Accpac International, Best Software and, most recently, NetSuite. She spent just over a year at NetSuite as regional sales manager and head of strategic accounting alliances.

“They offered me this role a year ago, around the time I was to take the job at NetSuite [then NetLedger],” Strauss said. “I chose NetSuite because it was the right move at the time, but I feel Open Systems needs visibility. They have a chance to be really competitive right now and I think I can help them do it.”

In her new role at Open Systems, Strauss will manage a team responsible for installed base revenue, strategic opportunities, and reseller recruitment. She will also handle strategic partner relationships, including those with K2 Enterprises, Accounting Software Advisor, and the American Institute of CPAs, as well as any future new business initiatives.

"With 16 years in the industry, Rita brings us invaluable experience in the accounting software market," said OSI chief executive Michael Bertini. "She understands the industry from all sides given her sales and management background. Her expertise will be used throughout the company to help us expand our reseller channel and partner relationships."

Open Systems says it has approximately 1,200 channel partners.
