Tax Videos Take Prizes

The Tax Foundation has selected three videos as winners of a contest that aims to draw attention to the high rate of business taxes in the U.S.

The first prize, of $5,000, went to Andrew Patterson of Edmond, Okla., for his video, "Tax Attack." Patterson is a business owner who provides film and postproduction services to companies including retailers, business firms, nonprofit organizations and natural gas companies.

The second prize, of $1,000, was awarded to Craig Kirchoff of Alexandria, Va., an editor and web producer at National Media, for his video, "Sally, the Corporate Income Tax and You."

The third prize, of $500, was given to Lori Harfenist of Brooklyn, N.Y., a host of "The Resident" for TV and for the Web, and content producer for stations including NBC, Turner Broadcasting, CNN, FoxNews, and DirecTV. Her video is called "Taxes, Schmaxes."

"In a presidential election year where the economy is the No. 1 issue, we've enlisted the help of America's next generation to make their voices heard about our business tax system," said Tax Foundation president Scott Hodge in a statement.
