SAGE VAR MIS CLOSES SHOP
Dallas - Sage Software's top reseller in North America for the past two years, Management Information Services Inc., also known as MIS Group, abruptly shut down July 7. The firm had ranked No. 10 on SourceMedia's VAR 100 list, with $25.3 million in revenue in 2008.
"As a result of the current economic crisis, the lack of available credit, and market circumstances beyond our control, we are not able to be viable as a business," said CEO Robert Muir.
Blytheco, a large, high-volume Sage reseller, has since hired several of MIS Group's top consultants and, at press time, said that it intended to hire additional former MIS staff.
CNG DEPLOYMENT WIZARD
Document management and workflow software provider Cabinet NG has released a new CNG Shared Access Filing Environment deployment wizard, which simplifies its configuration process. The company said that the upgrade would enhance its VARs' ability to more quickly demonstrate the product. The new wizard installs a two-user configuration of the CNG-SAFE document management software. Also installed is a complete database of preconfigured electronic filing cabinets and sample documents.

SUREPAYROLL ENHANCES RESELLER PROGRAM
Glenview, Ill. - Online payroll service provider SurePayroll has unveiled a series of changes to its reseller program. The upgraded program incorporates a tiered pricing structure, replacing its previous Reseller Program pricing discount. Under the new pricing model, VARs are given greater discounts when they have more clients using the service, receiving up to 25 percent off base pricing when they acquire 25 or more payroll customers.
SurePayroll also now offers a higher level of marketing assistance to help resellers scale their businesses, with a dedicated payroll marketing consultant available to work with them.
RED WING/ALERE PAYROLL PACT
Red Wing Software Inc. has partnered with Alere Accounting to provide its CenterPoint integrated payroll software application for Alere customers who process payroll in-house.
