Texas Society Names New Chair

Dallas (July 1, 2004) --- The 27,000-member Texas Society of CPA has elected San Antonio CPA Ed Polansky as chairman.

Polansky, managing partner of Polansky McNutt Perry & Gentry, will serve a one-year term. As the group's top volunteer leader, he will chair the TSCPA's board of directors, which sets policy, manages programs and oversees activities designed to serve the state's CPAs.

During his tenure, Polansky will focus specifically on education-related issues and how education affects three of TSCPA's core audiences: CPA members, students and the public.

Two top priorities for Polansky will be a statewide financial literacy effort that reaches out to consumers and students, as well as a series of virtual town halls that will give TSCPA members the opportunity to weigh in on important professional issues.
