Thomson Reuters has introduced a certification program for practitioners who want to offer retirement planning services to their clients.

The Checkpoint Learning Retirement Planning Certificate Program provides training in best practices for retirement savings and Social Security options. It also covers planning for Medicare and other budget needs of retirees. The program leverages Thomson Reuters’ Checkpoint Learning system, blending online self-study courses with a final exam.

Candidates who complete the courses and pass the final exam earn a Checkpoint Learning Retirement Planning Competency Certificate and up to 30 hours of continuing professional education credit. Completing the courses may also count toward the continuing education requirement of enrolled agents and other designations.
