Vertex Doubles Consulting Team

Tax technology vendor Vertex said it planned a major hiring initiative that would double the size of its consulting group over the next six months.

Vertex is seeing strong market demand for consulting and technology services to address compliance pressures. "Continuing audit pressure, along with a movement to centralize tax processing systems, are pushing companies to adopt new technology that streamlines and automates their compliance efforts," said Vertex CEO Jeffrey Westphal in a statement.

Vertex has sold 300 copies so far of its Vertex O Series to customers that need Web-based corporate tax systems.

The company has signed up the corporate recruiting firm TWC Group to search for people to fill a variety of consulting roles, including JD Edwards technical consultant, Oracle practice lead and SAP functional consultant. The privately held company currently has more than 600 employees.
