Vest Celebrates 20th Anniversary

Irving, Texas (April 2, 2003) - H.D. Vest Financial Services, the broker/dealer firm founded by Herb Vest, who is credited with pioneering the idea of accountants as financial planners, marks its 20th anniversary this year.

Vest, who first made the case for tax and accounting professionals as financial advisors back in 1983, when most states prohibited CPAs from receiving commissions for offering their clients investment products, is known as a major contributor to efforts to overturn state regulations.

The firm’s network has grown to more than 6,000 professionals who manage over $16 billion in assets for 1.8 million individuals, families and small businesses in 50 states. In July 2001, H.D. Vest became a non-bank subsidiary of Wells Fargo & Co., expanding its offerings to include banking products such as mortgages, home equity loans, trust and money management products.

The company plans to celebrate its 20th anniversary with special events at its two national conferences in May and October.
