Weaver Adds Director of Fair Lending Compliance

Debbie Ray, CRP, AMLP, CRCM, has joined Top 100 Firm Weaver as director of fair lending compliance services in the firm’s financial institutions practice.

Ray, who will be based in the Dallas office, brings over 20 years of financial institution regulatory compliance experience. Most recently she was an independent consultant with her own firm, AIIZ Compliance Consulting; before that, she served variously as a regulatory compliance executive with several large banks, and as a bank examiner with the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

“Debbie’s depth of fair lending knowledge and experience are significant in helping us accomplish our client service objectives,” said Bruce Zaret, a partner in Weaver’s advisory services and leader of the firm’s financial institutions compliance practice. “Fair lending has become a point of focus for regulators. We believe our clients will greatly benefit by having Debbie’s guidance in navigating through a challenging compliance environment.”

Ray will focus on fair lending risk assessments, comparative file testing, training, and consulting.

She holds a BBA in finance from the University of Texas at San Antonio and is designated a Certified Risk Professional by the Bank Administration Institute, and certified by the American Bankers Association as a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager.
