Weaver Adds New Partner

Mark Watson has joined Weaver as a partner in the tax and strategic business services division. Watson will work out of the firm’s Houston office.

Watson has more than 21 years of experience providing tax compliance and consulting services to businesses and high net worth individuals. He primarily focuses on individual and fiduciary income tax, estate and gift tax, generation-skipping transfer tax and philanthropic matters. Watson also advises independent oil and gas exploration and production companies on industry-specific tax matters.

“Mark’s background and skills in tax compliance and consulting makes him well-suited for Weaver,” Weaver’s CEO Tommy Lawler said in a statement. “We believe our Houston clients will benefit from his extensive experience in oil and gas and individual tax matters.”

Prior to Weaver, Watson worked at Mohle Adams and before that KPMG where he worked in the national and international tax leadership roles.

Watson is a member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Wednesday Tax Forum, where he currently serves as president, the Houston Business and Estate Planning Council and the Houston Estate and Financial Forum. He earned a Master of Science degree in accounting and a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Texas A&M University.
