Weaver and Tidwell Unveils New Service

Regional CPA and business advisory firm Weaver and Tidwell has launched a Transaction Advisory Services practice, an arm providing due diligence and business valuations to private equity companies as well as companies in transition.

The new unit will be headed by Brian A. Reed, CPA. In that role, he will manage the delivery and marketing of the service, and will oversee due diligence activities on both the buy-side and sell-side of corporate transactions.

Valuation services include purchase price allocations (SFAS 141R), goodwill and intangible asset impairment (SFAS 142), option and warrant valuations (SFAS 123R and IRC 409A), fresh start accounting, taxes and regulatory estate planning and mergers and acquisitions.

Weaver and Tidwell ranked No. 58 on Accounting Today’s 2009 Top 100 Firms list. The firm had revenues of $55.8 million in fiscal year 2009, and has 385 employees and 51 partners.
