The Securities and Exchange Commission's Electronic Data Gathering and Retrieval System contains a host of useful documents, including 10-K annual reports.

* Transactional Record Clearing House -

This site, affiliated with Syracuse University, is the brainchild of a former New York Times investigative reporter who decided to gather Internal Revenue Service enforcement information and create a database to crunch the numbers and look for any unusual patterns.

The home page for the fast-rising Extensible Business Reporting Language - a more flexible version of XML designed specifically for financial information. XBRL applies "tags" to data, allowing for greater transparency and easier interchange.
