Whitman invests in Tax Titans

Whitman Transition Advisors, an advisory organization for accounting firms, made a strategic investment of an undisclosed amount in Tax Titans, a veteran-owned company that operates an online marketplace connecting small businesses and qualified tax professionals.

Whitman Transition Advisors CEO Phil Whitman also joined the Tax Titans board of directors. "We've always been at the forefront of technological advancements in the accounting sector," he said in a statement Wednesday. "With Tax Titans as our partner, we will be able to help CPA firms that prefer to have their clients' tax returns prepared onshore instead of offshore."

He hopes to bring more clients, CPA firms and tax preparers to the Tax Titans platform. Whitman Transition Advisors helps CPA firms with mergers, acquisitions, succession planning  and recruiting.

Tax Titans may be one way to bring in extra staff for firms at crunch time, allowing tax professionals to work as much or as little as they want during tax season, from any location.

"Sometimes the answer lies in plain sight," said Tax Titans CEO Alan "Blake" Blakeborough in a statement. "With platforms transforming industries from vacation rentals to transportation, it was high time the tax preparation market experienced its own disruption."
