The addition of the team from Punchkick will help Wipfli Digital offer services such as mobile application and software development, data analytics, customer insights, e-commerce, sales and marketing. “We’ve been quite impressed with Punchkick’s track record and technical expertise in delivering custom software development services to businesses seeking creative ways to better connect to their customers,” said Wipfli managing partner Kurt Gresens in a statement. “Punchkick’s leader Zak Dabbas and his talented team are a great addition to our Wipfli Digital team, which has been helping emerging to midsized businesses use technology and data to make meaningful decisions and achieve greater results.”

Punchkick has been designing mobile apps and websites since 2006. The firm has been listed among Crain's “Best Places to Work” in Chicago along with Built in Chicago's “Best Places to Work.”

“We’re thrilled that Punchkick is joining forces with Wipfli,” said Punchkick CEO Zak Dabbas in a statement. “As part of Wipfli Digital, we’ll be able to better serve and drive impactful results for our mid-market clients who often stand to benefit the most from digital innovation but are largely under-served. With this combination, we’ll also be able to offer our clients the flexibility and approachability of a boutique firm with the resources and expertise of a large consultancy.”

Wipfli frequently does M&A deals. In January, Wipfli expanded in Denver by adding the advisory firm Strategem. Wipfli did a number of M&A deals last year. In November, Wipfli expanded in Naperville, Illinois, by merging in Klein Hall. In October, it combined with Porter Keadle Moore in Atlanta. The firm also added Patke & Associates in Illinois in August, TopLine Strategies in Arizona in June, and Howe, Riley & Howe, in Bedford, New Hampshire, in January. In the Chicago area alone, Wipfli has done 10 M&A deals in the past nine years.
