Wiss & Co. Acquires New Jersey Firm

Wiss & Co. announced that it has merged in the operations of Warren, N.J.-based accounting firm Casey, Townsend & Killian LLP, a specialist in the construction industry, as of Jan. 1. Terms of the deal where not disclosed.

Casey, Townsend & Killian was founded over a decade ago and has grown to a total of 10 staff members and more than $2 million in annual revenues.

"The addition of CTK compliments our desire to expand further into the construction industry," said Wiss & Co. managing partner Jeff Campo, in a statement. "The immediate impact of combining our existing construction niche with CTK's clients makes Wiss a formidable player in the market. However, the true value of the merger will be measured in the future opportunities to capture a greater level of market share."

The CTK name will be marketed as a division of Wiss and will be led by CTK managing partner David Casey. CTK's Jerry Killian and Brian Reingold will join Wiss as audit partners with Ed Townsend being added as a tax partner.Looking to expand its geographic reach, Wiss & Co. merged with The Distinctive Group in an August 2005 deal. Wiss now has a staff of nearly 100.
