Women's Financial Health Week Launched for 2nd Year

New York (Jan. 13, 2003) -- The American Institute of CPAs on Jan. 13 kicks off its second annual Women's Financial Health Week Monday, a consumer education campaign aimed at promoting awareness of financial planning and of the Personal Financial Specialist mark.

The AICPA has once again teamed up with Money magazine for the event, which will include a series of satellite media tours and Web casts. The centerpiece of the event is a Web site, www.womensfinancialhealthweek.com, which features financial information and interactive tools.

An AICPA poll of 697 women ages 25 and older found that only 30 percent of women describe themselves as "confident" or as a risk taker when it comes to managing their finances.

CPA planners Connie Brezik, Barbara Raasch, Doug Stives, Randi Grant and Michael Eisenberg served as advisory board members for the event.
