YHB Acquires Neighboring Virginia Firm

Yount, Hyde & Barbour PC announced it will merge with its neighbor, Rose, Sanderson & Creasy LLC, a Richmond, Va.-based CPA firm.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, and the merged firms will operate under the the Yount, Hyde and Barbour name. A trio of RSC principals -- Elsie Rose, David Creasy and John Sanderson -- will assume similar positions at YHB.

The RSC staff will be joined by accountants in YHB's Richmond practice and will continue working out of their Glen Allen offices. The merger is a step in YHB's plans to expand its presence in the Richmond market area and widen its footprint in the state. With the addition of RSC's staff, YHB now has a combined staff of 140, including 19 shareholders, serving clients throughout the state with offices in Culpeper, Leesburg, Middleburg, Richmond and Winchester.

"We are thrilled to welcome RSC into the YHB fold," said YHB president and chief executive Mark Rudolph, in a statement. "The professionals at RSC have outstanding reputations built on decades of consistently providing the highest quality service and advice. We have a great deal of respect for them both professionally and personally, and we feel very fortunate to combine our practices."

Earlier this year, YHB announced plans to significantly increase the size and service capabilities of the firm over the next five years, including building and strengthening its base of operations in the Richmond market.
