A new international survey ranks Zurich, Switzerland as the highest-paying city for accountants, with another Swiss city, Geneva, in second place.
Accountants in Zurich earn an average salary of £66,427 ($72,316), according to a survey by The Accountant magazine and the salary-benchmarking site Emolument.com, followed by Geneva, where the average salary for accountants is £66,054 ($71,923).
New York ranked as the third-highest-paying city for accountants, with an average salary of £54,369 ($59,218), plus a bonus of £3,486 ($3,797).
In Zurich the average bonus ranked third at £3,547 ($3,765) out every city that Emolument.com sampled, coming in just behind Chicago at £4,696 ($5,115) and Leeds in the United Kingdom at £3,813 ($4,151).
At the bottom in terms of salary was Moscow, with an average salary of £21,956 ($23,904).
