Accounting Degree Review names 2014/2015 top 50 graduate schools for accounting

Accounting Degree Review, an independent publication providing resources for current and prospective accounting and finance students, has released its 2014/2015 list of the top 50 graduate schools for accounting.

The publication's editors considered the results of four other rankings in the construction of their list - namely U.S. News and World ReportPublic Accounting ReportBrigham Young University (BYU), and TaxTalent.

The accounting accreditation of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) was also considered. All schools on the list hold business accreditation with the premier accrediting organization - notable since less than two percent of business schools worldwide are AACSB-accredited in accounting and business.

The following schools were deemed the top 10 graduate schools for accounting in the US:

1. University of Texas - Austin (McCombs School of Business)

2. University of Illinois - Urbana-Champaign (College of Business)

3. Brigham Young University (Marriott School of Management)

4.University of Southern California (Leventhal School of Accounting)

5.The Ohio State University (Max M. Fisher College of Business)

6.University of Michigan - Ann Arbor (Stephen M. Ross School of Business)

7.University of Pennsylvania (The Wharton School)

8. University of Chicago (School of Business)

9. Stanford University (Graduate School of Business)

10.University of Notre Dame (Mendoza College of Business)

A common theme amongst the top 10 is a strong commitment from school staff to help students find work post-graduation, and in the case of the McCombs School, a custom plan based on each student's strengths and goals.
