[IMGCAP(1)]Barbara Rosenbaum, senior tax shareholder at Santa Monica, Calif.-based business and advisory firm Gumbiner Savett, will co-chair the California Society of CPAs’ 2011 Women’s Leadership Forum June 10 at the Marina del Rey Marriott.
A thirty year veteran of the profession, Rosenbaum has been involved in the forum since its launch four years ago.
“Working in a traditionally male-dominated industry such as accounting, I believe this forum will truly empower our current and future women leaders,” said Rosenbaum in a statement. “Women take on so many different roles in their lives so our focus is giving women a ‘tool kit’ to be successful leaders in this modern world. From leadership in an era of economic uncertainty to strategic thinking, this year’s forum will address a myriad of issues and serve as a day of leadership development and professional growth.”
As one of three female partners at Gumbiner Savett, Rosenbaum was instrumental in moving the firm to a paperless environment several years ago.
She is also involved in education, serving as a trustee of a private elementary school, part of the Los Angeles Advisory Board for the Golden Gate University School of Tax in San Francisco and participant in a women’s mentoring group.
“Mentoring and educating is such a great avenue to help women of today progress further ahead in life,” Rosenbaum said. “Many of the young women I talk to simply need someone to bounce ideas off of and get advice.”
As a trustee of the California Society of CPAs Education Foundation, Rosenbaum has worked on the planning committee for the women’s conference since its inception.
