German school recognized in IMA Higher Ed. Endorsement Program

Joining more than a dozen American universities and colleges, Germany'sEBS Business Schoolhas been recognized by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) in theirHigher Education Endorsement Program- the first European school to do so.

The Higher Education Endorsement Program recognizes undergraduate and graduate accounting programs that meet the educational standards that enable students to pursue the CMA credential.

“Recognition by IMA as Europe’s first endorsed school is a great achievement and a testimony to the emphasis we at EBS place on both academic rigor and practical relevance,” stated Niels Dechow, professor and chair of Management Accounting and Control at EBS. “The IMA endorsement is a clear testimony to the quality of the curriculum offered by the leading department at EBS for Finance, Accounting, Control & Taxation (FACT). FACT is very proud of this accomplishment."

Following a detailed review process, IMA endorsed the EBS program in Cost Accounting, and Performance Management and Measurement, as well as the M. Sc. Advanced Management and Enterprise Risk Management programs.

IMA’s Higher Education Endorsement Program offers two types of recognition: full endorsement, for university programs that meet all endorsement criteria, and provisional endorsement, for programs that meet some but not all criteria for full endorsement.

Higher education programs looking for IMA endorsement must thoroughly integrate the content of the CMA exam into their curriculum, have adequate faculty resources, be accredited by a recognized accreditation organization, and have a faculty member designated as an IMA Campus Advocate.
