Los Angeles firm supports UCLA Economics student with $5K scholarship

Gumbiner Savett, a Santa Monica-based full-service accounting, taxation and consulting firm, recently congratulated Danny Vivier, the recipient of the "UCLA Department of Economics - Gumbiner Savett Inc. Endowed Undergraduate Prize for 2014-2015."

“We are proud to support future business leaders in accounting and finance in Southern California with this prize”, stated Michael Savoy, managing director at Gumbiner Savett. “Meeting bright and focused individuals like this year’s recipient lets us know that the prize is helping.”

The yearly $5,000 scholarship is available for standing seniors in the Department of Economics at UCLA. The firm instituted the endowment 10 years ago as a way to give back to the alma mater of the firm’s founding partners, Chuck Gumbiner and Lou Savett.

This funding will go a long way in reducing the tuition expense of attending UCLA. I hope to pursue an MBA one day, and the firm’s generosity will help bring me closer to that goal,” said Vivier, in a statement. Vivier, originally from San Diego, is a Business Economics Major who will be graduating in June 2015. He is currently a financial analyst at Alpha Diagnostics and a Senior Consultant at Bruin Consulting—an organization established and managed by undergraduate students providing implementable consultancy services for clients across a broad range of industries.

“The endowment is a testament to the commitment the firm has had to the community for over 65 years,” stated Clare Sataloff, HR Director at Gumbiner Savett. “We are fortunate to have an excellent pool of candidates that are eligible for the award at UCLA.”
