NJSCPA Expands Social Networking Reach

You might have read about the trials and tribulations of those studying for the CPA Examination, through their CPA Exam Cram. Now the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants has joined Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.

It’s all part of a strategy to attract and inform students, recent college graduates and experienced professionals. CPA Exam Cram, which was specifically targeted at college graduates studying for the CPA examination, recently surpassed 50,000 page visits in the two years since the blog was launched, according to Donald Meyer, director of communications and marketing for the NJSCPA.

“We’re particularly proud that our first three bloggers all passed the exam while writing for us,” he said.

In the last year, the Society has launched pages on Facebook and LinkedIn, which have more than 800 fans and 230 members, respectively, and opened a Twitter account, with 230 followers and growing.

“Our goal is to meet the members where they are,” Meyer said. “Facebook and Twitter provide another way of engaging our members and nonmembers and allow us to convey in a timely manner information CPAs and aspiring CPAs want and need to know."
