Today – the last day of Financial Literacy Month – is Financial Literacy Social Media Outreach Day and the Texas Society of CPAs is getting busy.

The Society’s 28,000 members are using Facebook, LinkedIn, blogs and e-mail to help make a positive impact on the personal financial well-being of those in need. It’s also endorsing – a consumer Web site that features personal finance information categorized by life-stages – to a wider audience.

TSCPA has also set up a Facebook fan page for Financial Literacy Social Media Outreach Day, has written articles in member newsletters about the effort, posted notices and sent messages to members in TSCPA’s Facebook and LinkedIn groups.

Last year, TSCPA reached more than 11,000 people with its financial literacy message endeavor and expects to surpass that number this year.
