Protecting Confidential Client Files

Accountants need to make sure they are keeping their clients' files safe, especially during tax season when the threat of identity theft only seems to be getting more prevalent every year.

Apricorn, a company in Poway, Calif., has just released a new version of its encrypted USB flash drive, the Aegis Secure Key 3.0.

The drive is about the same size as a pack of gum, but it provides up to 240 gigabytes of storage capacity and features 256-bit encryption.

The Aegis Secure Key comes with an embedded keypad. Only when the user types the proper PIN code into the keypad will it allow access to the files stored on it.

The drive thus provides a secure way to transport client files while on the road, particularly useful during tax season.
