Registration now open for 2015 Financial Planning Challenge

The Financial Planning Association (FPA), Ameriprise Financial and the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Board announced today that students and CFP Board-registered universities can now register for the2015 Financial Planning Challenge.

This three-stage competition was created to support the next generation of financial planners by engaging both students and academic advisors in the financial planning community; raising awareness around career opportunities; and encouraging students to learn and network with industry professionals.

The final stages of the competition will occur at theFPA Annual Conference: BE Boston 2015, the largest gathering ofCFP professionals this year. The conference will be held Sept. 26-28 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.

“The Financial Planning Challenge has evolved into a highly anticipated event at the FPA Annual Conference. Seasoned CFPprofessionals in attendance look forward to the event as much as the students who are participating,” stated FPA executive director/CEO Lauren M. Schadle. “Ameriprise and CFP Board have been valued partners in this program for many years. Together we are providing students a platform to connect with planners and demonstrate their understanding of the profession.”

“We are pleased to be part of the 2015 Financial Planning Challenge – a venue where aspiring CFPprofessionals can demonstrate their abilities and showcase their talents,” said CFP Board CEO Kevin R. Keller, in a statement. “Thanks to both FPA and Ameriprise for working with CFP Board as we build the next generation of talented CFP®professionals who will provide Americans competent and ethical financial planning services.”
