WS+B Shares the Strength

IMGCAP(1)] WithumSmith +Brown honored exemplary staff members last week during their inaugural “Strength Awards.”

The Red Bank, N.J.-based firm recognized 29 of their professionals for continuous excellence and outstanding leadership in five catagories: client service, community service, innovation, marketing and entrepreneurial spirit.

“It is the efforts of these individuals and many like them throughout our offices that make our firm truly great and in a position of strength as we address the market and service our clients,” said William R. Hagaman Jr., WS+B’s managing partner and chief executive.

The winners of each category were selected by a committee comprised of one senior representative from each of the firm’s eight offices, the firm’s HR director, and the firm’s managing partner. The winners are as follows:

The Strength of Client Service Award was presented to Christopher DeMayo, a manager based in the firm’s Somerville, N.J. office, for having increased both client satisfaction and retention by routinely exceeding client expectations.

Doris Martinez was the winner of the Community Strength Award for her efforts in volunteer work and charitable initiatives. Martinez is a paraprofessional in the Red Bank, N.J. office.

The Innovative Strength Award was given to Nina M. Chmura who works in the New Brunswick, N.J. office as manager, for helping to create, nurture, and improve firm processes, methods, and procedures.

Hal R. Terr was the winner of the Marketing Strength Award for his efforts in marketing excellence and new business development. Terr is a senior tax manager in the Princeton, N.J. office.

The final and most prestigious award, The Frederick S. Withum Entrepreneurship Award, named after one of the firm's founders, was won by Lewis D. Bivona, Jr. a principal based in the Princeton, N.J. office. Bivona was recognized for exhibiting the creativity and determination necessary to convert promising ideas into major firm initiatives.  

Each winner received an engraved crystal award and a monetary prize.
