IMGCAP(1)] Houston-based McConnell Jones Lanier & Murphy hosted three junior high students as part of an Annual Shadowing Day.
The March 18 event was in support of the Fifth Ward Enrichment Program (FWEP), a nonprofit organization that works with inner city boys. The students received office tours, a company history story told by a founding partner and one-on-one shadowing as well as on-the-job instruction.
We wanted to give the boys an opportunity to see a variety of careers available within a CPA firm such as human resources, marketing, payroll, tax accounting, management etc., said Joyce Barretts the firms human resources director and MJLMs liaison with FWEP.
