HONG KONG

Raymond Cheng, managing partner of HLB Hodgson Impey Cheng, has been re-elected into the council of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

CALIFORNIA

Luis Ramirez, Julie Malekhedayat and Kay Filler have joined Abbott, Stringham & Lynch, San Jose. Ramirez and Malekhedayat joined as tax principals, while Filler came on board as an audit principal.

MARYLAND

Trevor Williams was promoted to nonprofit audit principal and Elinor Litwack was promoted to client services supervisor at Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman CPAs, Bethesda. …  Gregory Scherer, Andrew Ondish has joined Weyrich, Cronin & Sorra, Lutherville, as senior accountants while Maxime Clarke joined as a staff accountant

MASSACHUSETTS

Patrick Connolly has joined BlumShapiro, Rockland, as partner in the firm’s tax department. Connolly will provide planning, transaction, analysis and tax compliance services for privately held businesses and their owners. Prior to BlumShapiro, Connolly worked at Ernst & Young for more than 22 years. He worked his way up to an executive director in the firm’s business tax services. Connolly has experience in retail and consumer products, manufacturing, venture capital and real estate.

NEW YORK

Peter Baum has joined Citrin Cooperman as a partner in the firm’s International Tax Services practice.  He will be based in the firm’s New York City office.

OHIO

SS&G made several promotions throughout the firm. Susan Jacobs and Susan Manganello were promoted to associate director in the firm’s Columbus office. Alexis Becker was promoted to director in the Cincinnati office. Kimberly Flett and Steven Goykhberg were promoted to directors in the Akron office. Dmitriy Berkovich and Robert Jackson were promoted to associate director in the Cleveland office. Mary Wallace was promoted to director in the firm’s wealth management entity, SS&G Wealth Management LLC. … BCG & Company promoted 13 employees throughout the firm. Jennifer Hertzig has been promoted to manager of practice growth. Albert Macso was promoted to manager in the firm’s valuation/forensic services department. In the tax department, Kathy Adkins was promoted to supervisor while Maureen Aebi, Dustin Bormet and Jenni Davies were promoted to senior associates. In the assurance services department, Julie Moldvay moved up to senior manager, Dana Howell to manager, Lisa Reidy to supervisor and Corey Centofanti was to senior associate. In the entrepreneurial services department, Dave Kinney was promoted to supervisor and Kristian Doty to senior associate. And in the firm’s development services practice, Sean Buck was promoted to supervisor.

PENNSYLVANIA

Daria Palaschak has been admitted to the partnership of Sisterson LLP, Pittsburgh. Palaschak joined the firm’s tax department in 1990 and has more than 25 years of public accounting experience. She provides tax planning and compliance services to individuals, partnerships, S corporations and trusts, with an emphasis on high net worth individuals and their related entities. Her clients include service, retail, manufacturing and investment companies, as well as family offices. … Terry Lehman, a partner and leader for ParenteBeard LLC’s financial services practice, has been named regional managing partner for Central Pennsylvania and Maryland. In his new role, Lehman will be responsible for the ongoing growth and development of the firm’s Pennsylvania offices in Hanover, Harrisburg, Lancaster, Lehigh Valley, Reading and York and its Maryland location in Baltimore.

SOUTH CAROLINA

Robert Tilton has been named a partner WebsterRogers LLP, Florence. Tilton, who joined the firm in 2004, has more than 13 years of experience in public accounting with an emphasis in auditing.

TENNESSEE

Cindy Chadwick has joined Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain, PC, Nashville, as a staff consultant in the firm’s security and risk services department.

TEXAS

Randy Gregg has joined Whitley Penn LLP, Dallas, as an assurance and advisory services partner. Prior to Whitley, Gregg worked at BDO USA LLP as a partner. The firm recently promoted Curtis Maxfield to partner. Maxfield joined the firm in 2008 as a tax senior manager. He specializes in corporate taxation, which includes corporate consolidated groups S corporations and partnerships, M&A, multi-state taxation and not-for-profit organizations.

VIRGINIA

Angela Kerns has been named the newest shareholder at Wall, Einhorn & Chernitzer PC, Norfolk.
