SAP Releases Latest Version of BusinessObjects

SAP AG today announced the latest version of its enterprise performance management software, SAP BusinessObjects 10.0, which is designed to help companies align their decisions and actions with their business aims.

Processing Content

The latest release allows users across a company to contribute to managing enterprise performance as well as take advantage of SAP In-Memory Computing, enabling detailed planning scenarios that can increase the ability to sense and respond to changes as they occur. Users can receive this real-time performance data on any kind of mobile device.

Other new features include business intelligence workspaces with embedded enterprise performance management content to track key performance indicators. New bill of materials costing features link EPM activities down to the production level. The software includes business area scorecards for areas such as customer relationship management, enterprise resource planning, and human resources for better alignment across the organization. The software also includes extended capabilities for financial consolidation, including consolidation monitoring, enhanced control and validation capabilities, incremental consolidation, and new journal features.

“The new release of our EPM solutions and analytic applications reinforce our market leadership and bring SAP’s vision for business analytics full circle,” said Bryan Katis, vice president of enterprise performance management solutions at SAP. “This is the latest example of how we are working to deliver solutions that help individuals, teams and entire business networks unlock valuable knowledge to uncover new opportunities, anticipate change and make better decisions as a whole to achieve remarkable results.”

In related news, global business consulting and internal audit firm Protiviti announced it is joining forces with SAP Labs U.S. to design content and automation for use with the new SAP BusinessObjects application.

Protiviti aims to combine its process risk expertise with the analytical features of SAP BusinessObjects’ governance, risk and compliance, and business intelligence offerings to help provide chief information officers and IT managers with a way to monitor risk trends in their business.
