PCAOB Seeks Candidates for Research Fellowships

The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board announced on Monday that it is actively seeking candidates for economic research fellowships during the 2017-18 academic year.

The fellowships look to produce economic research relevant to the PCAOB’s mission. Chosen fellows will conduct research within the PCAOB Center for Economic Analysis, which covers areas including standard-setting, inspections, enforcement, and risk assessment.

Interested candidates should have a knowledge of and interest in auditing, capital markets, and regulatory oversight.

Ideal candidates include:

  • Tenured or tenure-track junior faculty members in economics, finance, accounting, or similar areas.
  • Doctoral students who have completed all course work in a doctoral program in economics, finance, accounting, or a related area, and are actively performing research or writing a dissertation

Applications are due no later than Dec. 20, 2016. The fellowships begin August 2017 (or a mutually agreed-upon date) and last for 12 months with the possibility of a single, one-year renewal. Fellows receive a salary based on experience, as well as a benefits package.
