ARIZONA

Henry & Horne LLP, Tempe, has been named one of Arizona’s Most Admired Companies by Arizona Business and BestCompanies AZ. Separately, more than a dozen of the firm’s team members recently volunteered at for the evening meal service at Paz de Cristo.

CONNECTICUT

BlumShapiro, West Hartford, will serve again as the Platinum Sponsor of the American Manufacturing Hall of Fame 3rd Annual Induction Ceremony, which will take place on Oct. 6. … Leap the Pond, Milford, was named VAR Partner of the Year by Intacct in recognition of its “implementation excellence, high level of customer satisfaction and record growth.”

ILLINOIS

Grant Thornton LLP, Chicago, announced that it will be a Founding Partner of Impact 2030, a coalition of businesses with the mission of helping to achieve the United Nations’ 17 Global Goals for sustainability.

 

IRELAND

Hughes Blake has been admitted as the Baker Tilly International member firm in the Republic of Ireland. The firm, which is headquartered in Dublin with offices in Enniscorthy and Cork, will rebrand as Baker Tilly Hughes Blake. It has four partners and a total of 60 staff.

 

KENTUCKY

TrinDocs, a document management and workflow solution created by TrinSoft, Lexington, has joined the Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association. 

NEW YORK

Citrin Cooperman, New York, announced the pilot launch of the Citrin Cooperman Business Alliance to offer a variety of services and resources to CPA firms. (See the story.) … CPA.com announced the winners of its Innovative Practitioners Award: Caitlin Lacher and Rachael Higginbotham. OHIO

Rea & Associates earned a number of Marketing Achievement Awards from the Association for Accounting Marketing. (See the story.) Separately, the firm was honored by the Content Marketing Institute in its 2016 Content Marketing Awards, being named a finalist for the Best Podcast/Audio Series for “unsuitable on Rea Radio” and Best Annual Report for Turning Point.

WASHINGTON

Avalara Inc., Seattle, has partnered with ICBUSA, to give the latter’s bookkeeper members access to Avalara’s repository of resources for bookkeeping and other accounting professionals, which include tools and training resources, sales tax management products and services, a directory of state and local tax experts, and more.

WISCONSIN

Wipfli LLP, Milwaukee, has become a 2016 Champion of National Cyber Security Awareness Month, which is recognized every October and is coordinated and led by the National Cyber Security Alliance. As part of its efforts, the firm will be deploying a “30 Tips in 30 Days” campaign to educate clients on the things they can do to protect themselves from online dangers.
