Intuit Launches Cloud ProAdvisor Program

Accounting software vendor Intuit Inc. has launched a new QuickBooks Cloud ProAdvisor Program for accountants who are interested in building their business in the cloud.

Much like Intuit’s regular ProAdvisor program, the new cloud program offers members a number of benefits, including free access to QuickBooks Online Accountant, free training and certification, support, and marketing resources, including a listing in an online referral directory.

New members will also receive five free uses of Intuit Tax Online and one year free of Intuit Online Payroll for Accountants for one client.

The program is explicitly designed for accountants who have or are looking to develop a cloud-focused practice, according to product manager Jyothi Trishuleshwar. “It’s good for anyone who wants to grow a cloud practice online,” he explained. “The regular ProAdvisor program is for those who want to do everything -- desktop only, or desktop and cloud -- but the cloud program is for those who just want cloud customers.”

Cloud customers are a rapidly growing base: Trishuleshwar noted that 39 percent of new customers in the QuickBooks universe are online-only, a percentage that has grown rapidly in the past three years.

And while he noted that Intuit expects the initial adopters of the program to skew toward younger, newer firms and those that are rapid technology adopters, Intuit has seen accountants and firms of all sizes and ages convert their practices and their clients to cloud-only once they see the efficiency gains they can realize.
