On the move: BPM names its next CEO

Nick Steiner has been appointed the next CEO of Top 100 Firm BPM; Chris Puglia has been named Deloitte Tax's first-ever chief products officer; Miklos Ringbauer has been named the chair of the California Society of CPAs; and other firm and personnel news from across the profession.

CALIFORNIA

Nick Steiner

Nick Steiner has been appointed the next CEO of BPM LLP. Steiner has been with the Top 100 Firm for two decades, and currently serves as chief growth officer.

Miklos Ringbauer, founder of MiklosCPA, has been named chair of the board of the California Society of CPAs for the 2026-2027 term. He previously served as vice chair, and in a number of other statewide and local roles.

FLORIDA

The Institute of Internal Auditors' Internal Audit Foundation, Lake Mary, announced the recipients of its 2026 scholarships and grants, including $120,000 in funding to 24 universities participating in the IIA's Academic Alliance program, the highest level of annual support in the program's history. In addition, three students received Larry B. Sawyer Student Scholarships: iKarabo Mtileni, of the University of Pretoria (South Africa), Rohan Makai Shrestha, of Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and Sophia Sluyter, of Louisiana State University. The foundation also awarded $120,000 in travel grants for the Global Student Conference to 32 students and 12 educators from around the world. The Aramco Internal Audit Dissertation Scholarship gave two doctoral researchers $10,000 for outstanding dissertation research advancing the internal audit profession: David Pike of the University of Reading, and Mohamed Almutawa of the University of Florida. Finally, the foundation also awarded $25,000 through its Global Grant Program to 15 IIA national institutes and chapters globally.

RSM US released its 2026 Impact Report, "A Century of Understanding, Exponential Possibility." Highlights include its $1 billion investment in AI, its expanding international platform, and its ongoing investment in talent, technology and global capabilities.

The Illinois CPA Society has opened a new research project, the Manager Experience Survey, to participation by accountants in their first five years of managing others. (See our story.)

NEW YORK

Mike Greenwald

Mike Greenwald has joined the New York office of KSM as a partner in the tax services group. He was previously a partner and corporate and business tax practice leader at Friedman.

Chris Puglia has been named the first-ever chief products officer of Deloitte Tax, New York. He will guide the end-to-end vision, commercialization and continuous advancement of Deloitte Tax's technology offerings. He currently leads Deloitte Tax's East Region.

The Bonadio Group, Rochester, has received a Brandon Hall Group Gold HCM Excellence Award in the Best Leadership Development Program category for its Future Leaders Academy. The FLA is designed to prepare high-potential principals for the transition to partnership and combines executive-led instruction, leadership sponsorship and a three-year development journey.

Jeff Lenhart has been named president of Prosperity, the wealth management arm of EisnerAmper. He was previously a partner at Forvis Mazars and served as the Southeast regional leader of its national wealth management business.
