Grant Thornton Bolsters its International Presence Through M&A

Grant Thornton has expanded its international footprint throughout Canada, Taiwan, Vietnam and Switzerland. To help with expansion efforts, the firm completed 22 mergers and acquisitions over the course of 10 months.

Grant Thornton ramped up its presence in Canada with the addition of the Jeromien office of Rochon Thériault Chartrand which it merged with Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton.

In Ontario, EPR Kielstra & Company Chartered Accountants agreed to merge with Grant Thornton Canada LLP.

Crossing over to Taiwan, Hsinchu the firm picked up e-Bridge CPAs and added it to Grant Thornton Taiwan. The new office is located near Hsinchu Science Park, Taiwan’s equivalent of Silicon Valley.

Grant Thornton also merged with the Vietnam local firm ACPA Nexia. The new addition doubled its size in its existing firm in Vietnam.

The firm then headed over to Switzerland where it merged with Bankrevisions- und Treuhand AG. The firm specializes in audit and advisory for banks and financial services and has a FINMA audit license.
