NeNe Leakes Runs to Pay Off $824,366 IRS Tax Lien

The Internal Revenue Service has reportedly hit reality TV star and actress NeNe Leakes with a tax lien for $824,366.01 in unpaid taxes from 2014, and she good-humoredly tweeted a photo of herself running to the IRS tax office from her hotel.

The IRS filed the tax lien against the star of the TV series “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” “Dancing with the Stars,” and “Glee” last month in a Georgia federal court, the Daily Mail reported Wednesday.

Leakes, 48, apparently has the money to pay off the tax debts, having launched her own successful apparel collection on the Home Shopping Network in 2014 and starred in “Cinderella” on Broadway that same year. She also bought a $2.1 million home at a Georgia country club in 2015.

On her Twitter pageThursday, Leakes tweeted out a photo of herself in sneakers smilingly going off to pay her taxes, writing, “Running out the hotel 2 the IRS office🙊 y'all know I ain't got no jobssss...”

The photo was later deleted, and the tweet was expanded to say, "Running out the hotel 2 the IRS office🙊 y'all know I ain't got no jobsssssss😩 let me borrow 20$😂 #unstoppableNene #oversight #shaneinthebacktripping"

There have been conflicting reports about whether she will be returning to the cast of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” for a ninth season.
