The AICPA announced on Tuesday that five students have been named recipients of the 2015-2016 AICPA John L. Carey Scholarship Award. The one-year scholarship award, part of the AICPAs Legacy Scholars Program, is given to students from liberal arts and other non-traditional business backgrounds who are pursuing graduate accounting degrees and plan to become CPAs.

I attended Avalaras A-List Event back in September, right before my husband fell, had emergency knee surgery, and spent some time in orthopedic rehab. CBIZ announced on Thursday that their nationwide offices have collected a total of 1,026,139 pounds of food during the companys annual National Food Drive. According to a new survey by CPA.com, firms that have embraced new technologies are more likely to change with the most urgency. Early adopter firms - be it technology or practice management innovations - are more likely to enact deeper changes more rapidly than more cautious CPA firms, according to CPA.com's Innovation in Public Accounting Survey.
