Becoming a property owner continues to be an attractive prospect for many, despite the current high interest rates, so it makes sense to know where your property tax burden is going to be the least.

The list below ranks the states with the lowest effective real-estate tax rates, with the best six states having an average rate of 0.48%. The average amount of annual taxes on a $244,900 home (the median value of a house in the U.S.) in these states is $1,177.
