Saltmarsh, Cleaveland and Gund, Tampa, is celebrating its 75th anniversary with a year-long celebration, beginning with a company-wide Culture Week that included a service day. In honor of the firm’s founding year, the firm challenged its 150 employees to complete a total of 1,944 hours of extra volunteer service by year’s end.

Hughes, finance manager; Davenport, Iowa: “Keep a promise to her son to attend his football games, even when he travels with his college team to play in Ireland;” Lucrecia Gray, manager; San Antonio: “Create and donate quilts to Quilts of Valor and offer sewing classes to keep quilting relevant with a new generation;” Celeste McGahan, project management senior associate, Boston: “Take yoga teacher training and then volunteer to provide classes to help herself and others afflicted with scoliosis;” Brittney Posdal, associate, Schaumburg, Illinois: “Establish a fund to help her nephew who was born without a left forearm and pay prosthetics bills for other children;” Mary Theo, alliance talent leader, Boston: “Publish and distribute a children’s book featuring her grandson and his favorite stuffed animal that will provide joy to sick children;” Eileen Turkot, international manager, Chicago: “Transform a spare room at her family’s home into a welcoming bedroom for foster children."

The Internal Revenue Service is giving taxpayers and practitioners some extra time if they tried to file their returns on Sept. 15 through CCH Axcess, but were unable to do so because of a system outage.
The new product comes after Avalara bought Compli, which provides compliance services, technology and software to producers, distributors and importers of alcoholic beverages in the United States, last year.
