On the move: A new chair for FICPA

Amy Kistka was installed as the new chair of the Florida Institute of CPAs; new leaders at the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board; a host of scholarships from Sikich, RubinBrown, and the Illinois CPA Society; and other firm and personnel news from across the profession.

Jenn Chou joined CohnReznick as a partner in the asset management and financial services practice. Based in San Francisco, she provides tax compliance and consulting services to the alternative investment fund industry. Chou previously served as a tax director at a Big Four firm, and as a senior finance manager at a venture capital firm.

Amy Kistka, managing director and marketplace leader for Deloitte in Jacksonville, was installed as the 99th chair of the board of directors at the Florida Institute of CPAs on July 1, 2026.

The CPA Endowment Fund of Illinois awarded a record $161,000 in tuition scholarships to 61 accounting students attending 23 colleges and universities during the 2026-2027 academic year. 

Recipients of the Illinois CPA Society Accounting Scholarship included: David Arroyo, Drew Chipman, Devin David, Swapna George, and Rida Kim at DePaul University; Jessie Cardiel at Saint Xavier University; Joseph Dean and Madeline Stork at Illinois Wesleyan University; John Dwyer, Mathew Salazar and Abigail Zacatzi at Northern Illinois University; Natalie Engelman, Bowen Huang, Alex Jimenez, Haiden Mast, Isabelle O'Day, David Podczerwinski, Anna Sagmeister and Madan Shrestha at the University of Illinois; Elizabeth Good, Olga Makhlay, Owen Pullis, Fatima Qaiser and Benjamin Torres at Loyola University; Gannon Harshman at Millikin University; Megan Hoffman at University of Illinois Springfield; Anna Lakomiak at Benedictine University; Rachelle Pinto at Dominican University; Anna Topor at Lewis University; and Ashley Torres at Rockford University.

The recipients of the 2026 James A. Sikich Visionary Scholarship were Jessica Hu and Jason Mascarenhas. Hu will pursue her Master of Accounting Science degree at the University of Illinois, while Mascarenhas is an incoming senior at the University of Illinois majoring in accountancy and data science with a minor in informatics. 

The RubinBrown Charitable Foundation Scholarships went to Victoria Lozano and Dhavni Shah at DePaul University.

The recipients of the Herman J. Neal Accounting Scholarship included Tyshawn Allison of Northern Illinois University; Khamiya Langston of Elmhurst Unviersity; Martha Pierre-Louis of Loyola University; Hussam Sharfi of the University of Illinois Chicago; and Ashley Terry of DePaul University.

The Advancing Women in Accounting Scholarships went to Daniella Berkane of Loyola University; Esmeralda Corona, Giselle Naranjo, Mikah Ribble and Cristina Tejeda  of the University of Illinois; Mahnoor Fatani of Benedictine University; Lilliana Gutierrez of the University of St. Francis; Cheryl Jones of DePaul University; and Quynh Tran of the University of Illinois Chicago.

Community College Scholarships went to: Vincenzo Cavazos of Moraine Valley Community College; Kate-Lynn Hodges of Prairie State College; Katherine Sell of Illinois Central College; Caden Shaputis of Rend Lake College; Guohua Su of Harold Washington College; Justin Varvara of the College of DuPage; and Andrew Weingardt of Oakton College.

Finally, Freshman Scholarships went to Caiden Aldrich Cando, Calvin Andrews, Jade Bowen, Akshar Patel, A'Lyvia Perry and Jonathan Ramirez.

Cathy Davis, a partner at RRBB Advisors, Somerset, was named to the NJBIZ 2026 Leading Women in Business list, which honors women across New Jersey who demonstrate strong leadership, professional achievement, and commitment to their industries and communities. Davis chairs the firm's Women's Forum and specializes in tax, estate, and succession planning. 

Michael Gargiulo has joined Weaver, Little Falls, as a tax partner at Weaver. He previously held leadership roles with various regional and national advisory organizations.

WASHINGTON, D.C.

George Kostolampros was appointed general counsel at the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, Washington. Kostolampros was previously a partner at Venable. Matt Goldin, who served as acting general counsel since January 2026, will resume his role as deputy general counsel. In addition, Dr. Ying Li Compton was named the board's chief economist and director of the Office of Economic Risk and Analysis. She was previously a managing director at PwC International.
